Worst food quality, service, and experience.

I was only a tourist in Canada at the time, but was visiting friends up there couple of months ago and came upon this place. Worst mistake EVER. Service at this restaurant was horrid and the food wasn't great. We were also served undercooked meat twice in one sitting. Eat here at your own risk. I had spoken with "ERIN" (Long blond hair, Caucasian girl - YES I haven't forgotten your name!!) in a calm manner and she was not apologetic or displayed any reaction about the raw food. When we got the new plate and called her about the food once again being raw, she was extremely defensive and had a terrible attitude. This was our first trip to Canada and this had spoiled our experience that day.

Pleasant Surprise!

Was at Blue Mountain over the Thanksgiving Long Weekend and came across this place. Had read a couple reviews online and was apprehensive of the place but some friends said to try it myself, so I did. The service was great and the food was better than most in the Village at Blue Mountain. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, everyone was very helpful and the prices were reasonable, given the resort environment. I wouldn't hesitate to return and/or tell my friends to check the place out. We went back later in the evening and had a great time dancing and kicking back, as well... Great place all around.

Horrible

I am not sure what the other reviews saw, they seem somewhat old, this restaurant has apperently lost its liqour licence recently, it seems like they got it back. I had the misfortune of walking into this hole. It took over one hour to get into the restaurant only to find out the place was empty. We asked the staff why the wait if there is no one in the restaurant, and they were kind enough to tell us the A/C is not working and the staff is really tired and this was the reason. Would it have killed them to tell us the A/C was not working before we waited an hour with 4 kids in the party? The lethargic waiter finally rolls around and asks for drink orders and they have no sparkling water, no bottled water. The pop arrives flat and late and the server is less than enthusiastic. He finally gets to take the order and every other item on the menu is no longer available. Needless to say we got up and left. I asked to speak to the manager and the lazy waiter tells me he is the manager, but I could speak to the owner. Let me just say the “owner” is almost as impressive as the waiter, he made a lot of excuses for why they had nothing on the menu, but never seemed to get the fact that his staff is incompetent. I wish I had read these reviews before I went there could have saved the aggravation. We ended up driving back to Collingwood and got served in less time than it took to get the flat drinks.

Great food! Great Service! Great View!

We've been going to this restaurant for a few years and it has always been consistent.. consistently great! The menu gives everyone something to choose from and the service is always personable and attentive. The burgers are amazing!! The place turns into a hotspot for the 20somethings later at night but, during the day, it's great for my family.

Went for lunch yesterday while skiing and had a great meal! My friends enjoyed their meals, the Ham was huge! I had the smoked meat and it was tasty.. I would add sauerkraut next time... I had read the previous review about the bison and didn't order it. The friend that did thought it tasted great and enjoyed it. The owner stopped by and we got into a discussion about the bison, and the review.. he had not seen the review but assured us that the burgers are made fresh every day and that they are never frozen or nuked. "Perhaps some human error in the prep... we do make everything ourselves.. if they didn't like it, and let us know, at least we could have fixed it..." was a good enough explanation for us. We will definitely be back. Skiing was great and our lunch was great as well. The owner, John and bartender, Kail, were great guys! Keep up the great work!

I have been going to this restaurant since it opened. I am in the village at blue every weekend and I rotate through the restaurants. I always get the same thing, the Bison burger at Kaytoo. I have noticed a downward spiral in the food quality at Kaytoo. This was the worst ever. I ordered the bison medium and it came well done, yet was not hot in the centre. This makes me believe that Kaytoo is nuking there bison burgers in the microwave from previously cooked and frozen. There is lots of competition in the village and I will never eat here again. Buyer beware.

We had heard good things about this restaurant as...

We had heard good things about this restaurant as well. Took a chance and were not disappointed! This fish dishes both came on seasoned rice with some perfectly cooked root veggies. I love root veggies! My wife had the chicken stirfry and loved the chopstick touch. The steak was cooked exactly right and had great flavour as well. The only thing that stopped a 10/10 on the food is that there was a bit too much sauce in the stirfry. Other than that everything was excellent!

After hearing good things, was excited to try this place. Was very dissapointed, it was overpriced and the portions are small. My pasta was cold and tasteless. It cost me $6.25 extra to add chicken to it, which was also tasteless. The salmon came with only rice and no vegtables, and we did not even get bread or any other side. Very bland, cold food. We were not impressed.

We had heard alot about this place and had been trying to get a table for a long time. Finally got in and, let me tell you, it was worth the wait! All the food came out hot and tasted great! I'm not sure what the other reviewer was talking about with the chicken... ours was big and juicy and the ribs melted off the bone. the burger was great as well.. not one of those grotesque frozen patties.. real frenchfries, too! We were served by Cate and she was spectacular.. very knowledgeable and really took care of us. we had a great time and would highly recommend!

Everything today at Kaytoo could not have been better.Being a past employee I was welcomed with open arms and received top notch service and food.(not that i expected anything less) Ross was a delight to have as a server.Friendly and very accomodating.Our food was very good.I would recommend Kaytoo if you want a good hearty meal and nice atmosphere. ps....good to see you Greg!!

first time to the village at blue mountain. kaytoo was the only busy restaurant we saw, from dinner right through live entertainment at night. food was excellent, service was excellent. great job by all. next time we'll be back!

Went to Kaytoo based on a friend's...

Went to Kaytoo based on a friend's recommendation. Had a great time all around. Our server, Alicia, was very attentive and made us feel right at home. The owner came by and sat with us for a bit and told us about the history of the restaurant. Very personable and genuine! Had a great time and would recommend highly!
