I have been going to this eatery for 5 yrs now. It was really good at first when it was called The Bamboo then it was sold and it was just not the same. Now, it was sold again when it became Five Star Chinese Buffet. Now, it is better, pretty much like it was a few yrs ago plus they have the extra food items at the back on week nights that they only use to have on the weekends. It's a good place to eat. Visited today for lunch.I was welcomed with a smile from the waitress as I stepped inside.Very nicely decorated white & navy blue decor.Very clean.Waited over 5 min for menu.Bit irritated as there were only 2 other people there & guess it was the cook that was visiting at their table,who looked at me like I was bothering her.Smiley came over,gave me a menu & I ordered coffee.She returned shortly & I ordered fish & chips as saw a good review about it.When it came it looked more like tiny chicken fingers.It tasted ok,didn't look like any fish I'd ever had before.Fries were really good & lots.One of the best coffee's.I really should have gotten the special as 4 others came-in & all ordered soup & sandwich.I will return as I did enjoy atmosphere & it was quiet.Will get special next time. This place has since moved to 86 Dalhousie Street and has been renamed 'Pantry Cafe'. I had seen this place multiple times and decided to give it a try. Boy am I glad I did! The place is really big, with ample room for moving and sitting. When you first walk in, there are really comfortable couches, with newspapers available, it is a great lounging area! The tables are cute and are far away from each other to allow for some privacy when dining. The menu selection is great! There are tons of items to choose from, and everything is made fresh.They have everything from omelettes to sandwiches to coffee and ice cream. I chose the chicken bruschetta panini with ceasar salad. The cost isn't too bad, only about $10, but it was well-worth it! I sat down and had to wait, maybe about 8 minutes, and the dish came. The server apologized as she had forgotten that they didn't have any croutons for my salad, so she gave me extra bacon, what a great touch! The bacon was good too, it wasn't that processed stuff, it was actually real bacon. The sandwich was AMAZING! It had cheese, lettuce, tomato, pesto sauce, and mayonnaise; the chicken was nice and moist, it was hot (temperature wise) and crunchy. The service is amazing as well, all of the people who work there are friendly and kind. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend you all try this place, you won't be disappointed! Lire plus

Christien's restaurant was a very fun experience. The food and service were both better then expected for the volume of customers there on a friday night (may 25). We made reservation and got exactly what we asked for. Service was prompt and startes made it the table less then 15 minutes after ordering. We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Simcoe last night and this was recommended as the best breakfast in town. It was a good breakfast but didn't live up to that recommendation. Coffee was very good; service was very quick. Very quick but our order was still served good. The waitress was very good about getting it heated up when we explained it was cold. excellent value and good home-style food. Don't come here looking for fine-dining ambience, it's excellent though for family-style meals. Portions quite generous. We had a table of 6 and were seated in the back near two large groups so it was a bit noisy but that's what our family's style often is anyway! Lots of parking, easy to find.
