We came here for my sister's birthday and we all had a great time! The food, wow, was so good! The dessert crepes just made our night even better than it already was. We had a bit of wine, some people had beer (my boyfriend said their beer list was actually really good) and coffees. Everything was really good. Our server was lovely. The prices were fair, the decor is so neat (even their bathrooms are nice). I cannot wait to go back here...highly recommended. Lire plus

The restaurant itself is pretty nice...good decor, good size, was accomodating to a large group, and had fairly good service. The food, however, wasn't so good. The menu said the spaghetti sauce was homemade and one of their 'claims to fame', but it tasted like canned sauce with some mushrooms thrown in. The meatballs were definately frozen before being thrown into the sauce. They didn't have that cooked in sauce taste that good meatballs have. Many of the people I was with had the schnitzel and they all thought it was good though, so if you're going, order that and don't bother with the pasta! Lire plus

During the 2012 Voyageur Days in Mattawa, we visited the Moon Cafe on a few occasions. It is definitely the place to go to relax. We sat on the patio and listen to the music. The lady owner was very kind, friendly, with smiling face. The servers were young but the service was quick and great even on the last day of the festival. The food was excellent. The Cheshire Cat Pub is a unique British style pub just outside of Kanata. When you walk in past the red telepone booth, it feels really authentic with the unusual "kitch" that you would find in pubs in England. We were just there, and found that they had taken off most of there regular drafts to replace them with Ontario craft beers. My husband was sad to not have a pint of Erdinger, but we learned that they were doing this to honour Ontario Craft Brew Week and found ourselves trying The Flying Monkey and a pint of Neustad 10w30 (beers I had never heard of!) Good for them we thought! We also learned that most of the menu incorporates local produce, meat and dairy. Anyway, the food was amazing! Pub fare, but with serious style. I had the Chicken Curry, my husband had the hamburger special and our friends both had the fish and chips. The service was friendly and laid back and the owner came up to introduce himself and made us feel like we had been coming for years. It was hopping busy! This is truly one of those places that we will return to time and time again! We can't believe we waited this long to come in! Lire plus

My wife and i came here for a night out. We had been recomended the Brew Table by the concierge at the Holiday Inn down the street. We had the steak frites and it was incredible. Cooked perfectly and the service was the best i have ever recieved anywhere. An amazing dining experience all around from appetizer to dessert. I must say that the steak dinner is great however the chicken dishes are lacking. I had stuffed chicken and chicken stir fry and was very disappointed. It as low quality almost like no name brand. Considering the price you pay, I wish they would offer a complimentary bread basket. That being said, the steak is delicious. I will simply limit myself to steak when I eat there. Lire plus

If you only have a one hour lunch then this is definitely NOT the place for you to eat at that time. We arrived and it was busy. The place seems cramped but it appearred to be clean. We had reserved a table for noon and waited a while to get seated. When the waitress finally made it to our table we ordered drinks and our food at the same time. It took a long time just to get our drinks and a very long time for our food. It ended up being an hour and a half lunch. Most other restaurants in the area offer a quick lunch so people can get back to work in a timely fashion. This is where The Wood falls drastically short. The food was good, this I will not dispute. By burger was juicy and cooked perfectly and the salad with balsamic dressing was fresh and nice also. Unfortunately the speed of service will have to keep me away from this restaurant. Lire plus
