This place came up when I asked some friends about a good burger joint in Kingston. I gave it a shot and I have to agree the food is great. The burgers are large portion, and the sweet potato fries where great along with the chipotle mayo. The two meals and an appetizer ran up a pretty healthy bill, but it was worth it.
Its a comfortable place to eat with medium to high level food in a relaxed atmosphere.

My family started going here about a month ago for breakfast on Sunday mornings and absolutely love it!!! There is a wonderful homey feel that you get the minute you walk in the restaurant.
It is the only place in Kingston we have found so far for breakfast that does not let your coffee cup go empty (a definite plus in our group).
All of the servers are extremely nice, service is speedy, and the food is great. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants a great homestyle place for breakfast.

i hav e been going to the brass since i came to kingston for school five years ago. the brass isnt really known for its food for good reason, its a bar, but there breakfest hits the spot on a hang over sunday. have you ever noticed that the brass has the best looking staff in kingston? We were looking for a place to watch the Euro 2012 final and we decided to visit this place. When we walked in, the place was empty, apparently the downstairs doesn't open until much later than the upstairs. So, we decided to head upstairs. It was empty, there were only three people behind the bar (all servers) and us. We chose the table which was facing the TV screens. We asked the one server if she could lower the music and turn up the volume on the TVs. She asked her manager and gladly did so, she was very kind about it. The upstairs is huge, there are tons of tables and a few pool tables as well. There are also a ton of TV screens throughout the whole area. We ordered a bunch of appetizers as we were going to be there for a while. We first ordered the chicken wings. We ordered the first batch with mild barbeque sauce, and the second batch with honey mustard sauce. The mild barbeque ones were okay, but the honey mustard ones were awesome! I highly recommend the honey mustard ones. The only thing I found about the wings were that they were expensive, only eight small wings for $10, pretty pricey if you ask me. Then we ordered the smokehouse poutine; pretty good poutine but again, very pricey, $11 and it was a small dish. The next item was the spinach dip, this dip is beyond amazing, you definitely need to try it! It comes with a large serving of pitas and the spinach dip was warmed to perfection, AMAZING! After that, we tried the brie calzone, which was a huge disappointment. It was just a huge pocket of air, with a small lining of brie cheese and a small salad on the side, very disappointing. I wouldn't order it again only because it cost $10 and it wasn't that good. The service was okay, nothing out of the ordinary. I would visit again and try a few different items. It's worth a shot, it might satisfy your taste buds!

The food is respectfully served ,,quite delicious and having eaten all German fare in Germany this eating establishment is well worth going down town.
However the decor badly needs to be fresh and brightened up a lot, the old floor is good .
The decorating could be more German inspired as in the Gast haus themes in Deutchland .
Will still return however ,,
