Absolutely wonderful experience at Giovannis. We love the atmosphere and the people who work there. The service is always exception and the food is fantastic. We are now regulars - due to the friendly feeling we get every time we go there. Thank you to the owner and the servers, you have made us feel very welcome to your town and your restaurant. Simply the BEST

"To die for" Carpaccio Positively Perfect Pollo Portofino Winning Wine List Delectable desserts I love my food, and I had their complimentary bruschetta, a starter, an entree, a dessert, a cappuccino, and wine. My only complaint was that I was so FULL afterwards, because I just couldn't stop. I'm going back here all the time. The place was packed, so it was a little loud, but obviously, everyone wants to eat there too.

Best Italian on the Island

We've tried many Italian restaurants on Van Island and this is our favourite!! Great food; great service and wonderful atmosphere. Expect a top-notch dinner (prices are on the high end), fine wine and nice evening. Reservations are a good idea as they staff accordingly (have dropped in when they've been busy and understafffed - as they don't turn anyone away - and you do wait for your food longer). But well worth it.

Our party really enjoyed the food. Not the case for myself. I could not enjoy my vegetarian meal as it was not appealing, lacked flavour, and not enjoyable! Everyone had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the atmosphere. We will return again i will eat at home before i go out!

Surely one of the nicest restaurents on Vancouver Island and certainly unmatched in the mid island region. Excellent Italian cuisine, very nice decor, and staff that are really making an effort to enhance the dining experience. Giovanni's culinary pedigree includes reknown Italian restaurents in Calgary's Bridgeland area. This is not a pizza joint but if you like Italian food served in an authentic ambiance, this is the place to go.

Love this place! The staff were friendly and very accommodating. Despite not having a reservation they found a spot for us. Not too big, the restaurant had an intimate and cozy atmosphere. Apparently quite new to Qualicum Beach, they had a capacity crowd of very friendly and happy people. Awesome food....a real taste experience. The price was surprisingly reasonable and the service was friendly and professional and made us feel that we were really special. Chef Giovanni took time out from his busy kitchen to chat with us! Any time that we are on the Island we will be sure to make a reservation for a return visit. The best!

Had heard so many positive things about the Mahle House, decided to make the drive to Cedar to give it a try. It was a great decision. The room is...quaint. Style of decor wasn't really my cup of tea but it's an old house and it suits its purpose. I must say it was quite cozy. Server was a little frumpy but efficient and attentive. That must sound so shallow, but I want to be honest. She didn't make suggestions, which is something I adore when dining out. My guest and I dine out all the time, so we were able to navigate the menu with ease anyway. Reading the menu, everything sounded delicious. We decided on the seafood trio appy in which all the seafood was cooked just right. Scallop seared only on one side and tender. These folks know how to do it right. I had the stuffed chicken and my guest had the tuna. I was surprised at how large the portions were. I could not finish my meal, it was huge, rich and soooo good. My guest had the tuna which was slightly overcooked, though we did not specify a temperature (we like it rare), but nonetheless very tasty. We managed to save room for dessert and shared a dessert sampler. Rich chocolate treats and a small creme brulee. Fabulous. I will definitely go back for the food and have no quams about telling friends to try it out. Lire plus
